Why Invisalign® Treatment?

Faster treatment in some cases

Invisalign really excels in improving smiles that are mildly crowded, or where there are lots of extra spaces. Some simpler cases can be completed faster in Invisalign than they can in braces.

Proven results

SmartTrack® material and SmartForce® features are clinically proven to improve control of tooth movement with Invisalign clear aligners.

Better fit

Aligners made from SmartTrack® material are comfortable, fit well and are easy to put on and take off.

Effective

Recent technological and technique improvements have allowed Invisalign® clear aligners to reliably treat a wider range of conditions than used to be possible, including crossbites, crowding, open bites, gapped teeth, overbites, and underbites.

Virtually invisible

Most people won’t even know you’re going through treatment, because Invisalign® aligners are almost invisible!

Comfortable

Invisalign® clear aligner trays are not only smooth and comfortable to wear, but they’re also removable. That means you can continue doing all the things you normally would, from brushing and flossing to eating whatever you like.

Convenient

Invisalign® treatment is ideal for your busy schedule, making office visits less frequent and shorter, and virtually eliminating any extra emergency-type visits. Invisalign® treatment is particularly convenient for those who frequently travel for work, or who are away for long periods of time attending college.

The Invisalign® Treatment Process

At your initial consultation, we will take photos and an x-ray of your teeth, then Dr. McAllister will thoroughly examine your bite and teeth, and discuss your orthodontic needs with you, evaluating whether Invisalign® treatment is right for you. Invisalign® treatment is both adult and teen-friendly, and now, early or Phase I treatment can be provided with Invisalign® as well.

We will use an iTero® digital scanner to create fast, precise 3D digital images of your teeth. Then, Dr. McAllister will map out a specific treatment plan, including the precise movements of your teeth and an estimate of how long your treatment will be. Once the plan is prepared, we can even show you how your teeth will move and preview your new smile at your appointments as you progress through treatment.

Your custom-made aligners will be made of Invisalign’s proprietary SmartTrack® material. They’re virtually invisible, so most people won’t even notice you’re wearing them as they straighten your teeth. Wear your Invisalign® clear aligners 20 to 22 hours a day, and take them out only when you eat, brush, and floss for best results.

As you wear each set of aligners, your teeth will gently and gradually shift into place. You will start out wearing aligners for 10-14 days each. If your movements aren’t complicated, we may even recommend that you begin wearing a new set of aligners every week. We typically schedule checkups every six to ten weeks.

When your treatment is complete, we will provide retainers that are also custom-made for you, fitting and feeling just like your Invisalign® clear aligners. It is one of the most proven statements in science that everything in the universe is naturally becoming more disordered. A commitment to retainers will provide the necessary maintenance to keep your beautiful finished smile looking great for years to come.

Invisalign® FAQ

Does Invisalign® hurt?

Invisalign® doesn’t hurt any more than traditional braces, but because aligners put forces on teeth to move them to better positions, you will feel some “exercise soreness” or discomfort similar to braces.

What’s the difference between Invisalign® and braces?

Braces are bonded or fixed on your teeth and usually made of metal or ceramic. Invisalign® is a customized set of removable plastic clear aligners that you wear all the time except when eating or drinking colored liquids.

How much does Invisalign® cost?

In order to let you choose what works best for your lifestyle, in our office, Invisalign® doesn’t cost you any more than braces because of our “One Price” policy. Get started with a free complimentary exam today!

Is Invisalign® treatment faster than braces?

This really depends on your particular teeth and bite. Invisalign® can be faster for some orthodontic problems and slower for others. Dr. McAllister will help you understand which is better for your unique orthodontic needs, and why it is better.

Does Invisalign® have food restrictions like braces?

No, braces have food restrictions because some foods are harder to clean out of braces, and some foods can cause braces to become loose or broken. When you eat, you remove your Invisalign® aligners, which allows you to enjoy all the foods you love.

What kind of tooth problems can Invisalign® fix?

Recent advancements in technology and techniques have made it possible for Invisalign® to be used as a tool to treat a lot of cases that couldn’t be treated with Invisalign® in the past. Whether you have crowded teeth, gapped teeth, overbite, underbite, open bite, or crossbite, Dr. McAllister has the expertise to use Invisalign® to correct your orthodontic needs.
